Steph and George’s Devonshire Terrace Wedding

Devonshire Terrace Wedding Photography – Steph and George planned their Devonshire Terrace wedding from the states where they live – as Steph is English they’d wanted to celebrate in both countries so they decided to hold the wedding in London and the party back home in the states. I’d previously shot a friend’s wedding so they came with a personal recommendation and were really keen for relaxed, un-staged coverage of their wedding. Tick! Their day stated with Steph getting ready at the Devonshire Club a stones throw away from the terrace. As always the getting ready part of the day is always punctuated with laughs, fizz, dresses and shoes everywhere, a few last minute panics eventually leading to everyone looking fabulous and ready to rock!

Summer wedding in the City of London

Meanwhile, back at the venue, having just flown in the night before, George arrived with his best man as guests were gathering. And it wasn’t long before Steph arrived looking absolutely stunning with her bridesmaids and Granddad who was walking her down the aisle. With the sun streaming down on this gorgeous summer’s day the wedding began. Their ceremony was conducted by William a Surrey based wedding celebrant who did a great job of entertaining them all but marrying them too! Lots of scrummy cocktails followed with family photos and couples photos. The bonus of a Sunday wedding in the city  is there are no crowds, and hardly any tourists so they had the place to themselves.

“We cannot say thank you enough for the wonderful photos and all the fun we had taking them. You have truly captured how much fun everyone had throughout and we love all of the shots. We will recommend you to everyone we know. Thanks for being so easy to work with”

With a quick turn around after the wedding ceremony the terrace had been prepared for dinner and Steph & George were welcomed into dinner with rapturous applause. Great speeches, lots of champagne, and then dinner was underway. Their wedding was in July and the space and light was amazing at this venue so it’s well worth considering if you’re looking for a fab offbeat London venue. After dinner, guests gathered inside for the first dance and there were lots of first dances as is the American tradition, before the party got going. I absolutely loved all the fun and laughter with these two, and indeed their crowd of friends. Steph & George were a fun couple and wanted their wedding photos to capture that – my style of shooting is very natural and relaxed and being left to capture things as they unfold without direction or a long list of photos, allowed me to stay true to my style of working. If you like un-staged, story telling relaxed photos get in touch HERE, I’d love to hear from you. All the very best to you Steph & George – I know you’re both going to laugh your way through life together xx
