Worthing Wedding Photographer – a 1920’s inspired wedding

Lee-Anne & Damien were planning a 1920’s inspired party for their Worthing wedding – they married quietly at the registry office the day before, so for them, it was all about the party! A big party really for their nearest and dearest and they chose a big field in Kinsgswood Stables, Findon to host it! Their inspiration came from the elegance of the 20’s and 30’s and they decided to cross a bit of glamping and glamour at the same time… Damien & Lee-Anne met 6 years ago and Damien proposed on 25 August the year before, under the stars in Cornwall. Clearly an old romantic!

An unexpected start to the day

Things didn’t start exactly as planned that day though…..when I arrived it was clear they’d been really badly let down by their event company who hadn’t set things up, so all those fabulous suppliers on site (I knew arriving early was always a good idea!!) pulled their sleeves up and helped to organise things from setting out furniture and parasols, drinks tent, wishing tree, decorating the marquis and just lending a hand where we could to help get the party started! A few hours later, and after a few big group hugs, their guests started arriving and things started to roll. Time to get my cameras!

1920’s Glamour, Swing Boats & Oysters

Boys were in all looking fabulous in black tie and girls glammed it up in fabulous 20’s inspired outfits – it was a seriously outstanding effort by them all! For entertainment, there was an old fashioned coconut shy and croquet, as well as the amazing vintage swing boats from Irvin Amusements that were the centre of attention for most of the day.  Check out that incredible photo of Lee-Anne on the swing boats!  There was an Oyster Meister, delicious organic crepes & galettes from the French Revolution, vintage lemonade & bucks fizz, as well as an amazing array of food all day including hand-made toffee apples made by Lee-Anne’s sister Tammy who was a total super hero setting things up. Gold star to Tammy!!

They even had their very own ‘Love Tent’ with a huge vintage cast iron bed, beautifully decorated with sunflowers, vintage bunting, rugs and snuggly blankets, love hearts, candles, fairy lights and champagne!! With lots of 1920’s inspired decorations and detailing, guests had a fabulous time. After a short walk around for some photos with Lee-Anne & Damien, they headed back for speeches some dancing and cake! They all danced their socks off to the totally rocking soul-funk sound of South Coast Soul Revue – what a voice that girl has!!! Blazin….

Lee-Anne & Damien – you guys are a perfect fit. With some couples you can see one’s the Ying to the other’s Yang! I know you’ve lots of happiness ahead of you and wish you all the very best. Congrats again and big thanks for asking me to be there to capture your special day.

A few big ups here for the totally splendid Charlotte and Ben Irvin of Irvins Amusements who pulled their sleeves up like no other! Big ups to all the other bridesmaids and the groomsmen who were also a great help, especially Keely and Darren who didn’t stop! And Tammy & her girlfriend who worked tirelessly to smooth out lots of wrinkles. What totally great human beings you are!

A few other mentions…. Dress Designer was Chrissie Nicholson of Wild Curve Couture
